One of our favorite games of the year and a contender for 2012's best shooter, Far Cry 3, is now available (read our review). Part of Ubisoft's marketing strategy for the game was to use its most notably villain, Vaas, and put him in live-action videos starring Michael Mando (Vaas himself) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Far Cry 3 has since earned even more viral video love from YouTube celebrities including Freddie W & FPSRussia, and now a new one from Devin Super Tramp.

Far Cry 3 is a shooter first and foremost, but it's also a game of stealth where Jason Brody, the game's protagonist, is forced into learning to survive and adapt in a dangerous tropical island. He must learn to hunt to survive, not only wildlife, but the pirate and mercenary inhabitants using the island for their slave-trading and drug manufacturing operations.

Real Life Far Cry 3

Throughout the game, Brody learns a variety of skills that help him use the environment to his advantage and intimately kill opponents with a knife. The above video demonstrates what this would look like in real-life (sort of), using a blade, a silenced pistol and a recurve bow. We even see a very fitting use of foliage and binoculars at the beginning, a necessary part of beginning any skirmish in a Far Cry game.

The next video (below) relies less on green screen effects and gives an even more authentic look at some of the weapons of Far Cry 3, from the powerful 357 Magnum to the Dragonov sniper rifle.

The key to being successful is by being silent. FPSRussia's demonstration showcases the firepower and accuracy of these weapons but in the game, players should choose weapons that they can augment with sound suppressors.

It's a shame he couldn't get the flame arrows working. That and the explosive arrow tips are some of the most entertaining and effective tools in the game.

Far Cry 3 is currently available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
