At long last, after several days of teasing gamers on its official Facebook page, Sony has unveiled its big secret. Many began to assume that the company was gearing up to announce the official date for its forthcoming PlayStation 4, but once Insomniac Games stepped into the picture to confirm that it was a new game from the developer it became all too obvious what was about to be unleashed. Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus.

Unlike recent Ratchet and Clank titles, Into The Nexus will be a return to form for those who enjoyed the single-player focused adventures starring everyone's favorite Lombax and his trusty mechanical sidekick. This means that those who were unimpressed with the recent Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One will have nothing to fear — provided they were fans of the original R&C formula to begin with.

Acting as an epilogue to the 'Future' saga of Ratchet and Clank titles, Into the Nexus will be the final chapter in the long running PS3-exclusive saga. Brian Allgeier, the creative director responsible for Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time, will once again be behind the helm, which reassures that the same light-hearted humor that the franchise is so well known for will remain intact.

For the first time, players will be able to experience zero-g space and float around areas that are sans gravity. Furthermore, they can look forward to a number of zany new weapons being implemented into Ratchet's arsenal — some of which are showcased in the title's debut trailer. Best of all, Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus will be made available at retailers and the PSN for a very reasonable $29.99, and it's said to be significantly longer than both Quest for Booty and Full Frontal Assault.

Many fans were probably hoping that this Ratchet and Clank game would be for the PlayStation 4, but apparently Insomniac thought it best to finish the 'Future' saga on the platform it started it on. While PS4 gamers will be left waiting a little bit longer, the arrival of the recently announced Ratchet and Clank animated film will likely point to another new entry in the series arriving alongside it.
