Banjo is in Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, we get it, but this “rare” appearance seems to be just the beginning for Rare’s characters if a recent quote from the company’s chief is to be believed.Rare studio head Mark Betteridge recently sat down with CVG earlier this week and talked about why it made sense to have the bird and bear combo tear up the track with Sonic and friends.
“It makes sense to keep our characters in the public eye and in players’ awareness, and this opportunity was one we couldn’t pass up. Not only did it allow Banjo and Kazooie to appear as they’ve most recently been seen in a Nuts & Bolts-style vehicle, but we’d be entrusting them to a well-known publisher with its own compatible stable of characters.”
Nothing wrong with this news as far as I’m concerned; I would love to see Joanna Dark in Fable or Conker in Gears of War! We will have to wait and see what Rare Ware has up their sleeves.
You can check out Banjo and Kazooie in Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing on February 23rd in North America and February 26th in the UK.
What Rare characters and in which games would you like to see Rare characters show up? Who’s your favorite Rare character?

Well, it certainly helps build their profile and the popularity of the games they're in. I'm sure it also brings in a bit if royalty cash for Rare too.
