Assassin's Creed fans based in Europe will be getting a sweet deal via a console and game bundle which will launch alongside the game itself this October! PlayStation Europe has just announced a PlayStation 4 bundle which will include the standard console, a physical copy of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, and a free digital download code for Watch Dogs. The console included in this bundle may not have the neat paint jobs other Sony bundles have offered, but it's still a great package for fans of the series who haven't updated themselves to the current generation of consoles.

The PlayStation Blog failed to mention a price for the new Assassin's Creed bundle, which looks like it'll only be available for those in Europe. We'll keep you posted when the official confirmations are announced and update this post to reflect the new information.

We went hands-on with Assassin's Creed: Syndicate during E3 2015, and the experience left us feeling mixed. Ubisoft's biggest challenge will be to keep the series feeling fresh after so many installments, and hopefully ensure a smoother launch process after the Unity fiasco. The game employs great usage of a new tool called the rope launcher, which helps eliminate an overburdened parkour system which has left some fans feeling burnt out. The rope launcher gives players a choice on how they transit throughout the city of London, and as a result Syndicate has forged a good opportunity to give the series a much-needed breath of fresh air.

The PlayStation 4 copy of the game will also net fans no less than ten exclusive 'Penny Dreadful' themed missions. The name refers to a slang word used to describe mystery-thriller pocket novels which saw a sharp rise in popularity back in 19th-century London. Gamers will take on the role of Artie, who is likely a play on Arthur Conan Doyle, real-life author of the Sherlocke Holmes novels. In Syndicate, Artie is a young connoisseur of detective stories who teams up with famed Penny Dreadful journalist Henry Raymond, and together they will explore a series of crimes across the city, interrogating witnesses and using a modified eagle vision to detect clues.

With the holiday season approaching in the next few months, it's a smart time for Sony to be announcing attractive console bundles. Assassin's Creed has always been a high-ticket item, but with this bundle currently being Europe-exclusive, we wouldn't be surprised to see another package announced for North American consumers in the next month or so.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is slated for release on October 23rd for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As previously announced, the PC version was delayed and will release November 19th. Given the awful launch Unity went through, it's probably best Ubisoft takes as much time as they need on this release.

Non-European Ranters, would you purchase this bundle if it was available outside of Europe?
