Godfree of Miami's Gamertag Radio got a hold of a video clip from a Saudi Arabian television station, KSA2, where Marketing Manager E&D Microsoft Saudi, Syed Bilal Tariq, confirmed that Project Natal is set to release worldwide in October 2010. Tariq went on to say that the official release date would be made public at this year's E3 Expo, which is set to take place in June 2010:

Is this a credible report? Well, Microsoft is holding a media day for Project Natal on the evening of June 13th and its general press conference the following morning. We'll likely find out for sure whether Tariq is correct then. Either way, Microsoft has already gone on record saying that Project Natal would sell "millions and millions" at Christmas this year, so anticipate knocking over your furniture while wildly swinging your appendages in 2010.

UPDATE (5:20 p.m. - May 11, 2010)

Shockingly (sarc), Tariq may have no real inside information after all. G4 spoke with Microsoft and discovered the following:

“Syed Bilal Tariq is not a [Microsoft] employee," said a company representative over e-mail. "He is a vendor employed through a third-party company on behalf of the Microsoft subsidiary in Saudi Arabia.”

This again proves that overseas sourcing for gaming news can be unreliable. Interestingly enough, Microsoft did not dispute the October release date, but it often refuses to comment on rumors. It's possible Tariq could have guessed right despite his lack of credentials. As we stated above, Microsoft has already admitted that a holiday release was planned. In any case, we'll likely hear the official release date from Microsoft next month.
