Developers from the Project Gotham Racing team at Microsoft Game Studios have been busy capturing the real life sounds of a Tesla Roadster put through its paces by one of their own executives.
The small Roadster, owned by Microsoft executive Tom Burt, has been spun in circles and sprinted through various 119 mph runs during its recording sessions. The car was used in an effort to generate various tire squeals and engine whines presumably for use in the upcoming Project Gotham Racing 5 game.

Publisher Bizarre Creations has been known to push the envelope in damage and lighting effects on their previous racing games, and are continuing their realistic tradition with real recorded sound effects as well. Although the 5th entry in the series hasn’t been officially confirmed, Bizarre Creations has previously noted that the newest entry in the series will feature greater graphical detail and more real-time damage effects on the cars. There is also a possibility that these sound effects will be used in the developer’s rumored James Bond racing game as well.
