Free stuff is always nice. Whether it's a 'Buy-one-get-one-free' deal at your local Walmart, an unexpected item that didn't scan when you walked through security (and didn't get caught!) or a quick kiss from that special someone, getting something for nothing is always awesome.

So, fans looking forward to picking up Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands should be delighted to see that according to the BBFC page for the upcoming release, the title will include the Xbox Live/Playstation Network title Prince of Persia: Classic.

According to the BBFC, The Forgotten Sands will include;

n/a PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE FORGOTTEN SANDS

n/a PRINCE OF PERSIA: CLASSIC

Released in 2007/2008, Prince of Persia: Classic is a remake of the original Apple II title Prince of Persia - Complete with updated 3D graphics, some new moves and gameplay mechanics lifted from The Sands of Time. PoP: Classic did well when it came to reviews, collecting an aggregate score of 82/100 - Not a bad score, by any means.

No news yet as to whether Classic will be available via a download voucher or whether it'll come on the disc, but the former seems the most likely. However, that leaves just one question; What about the people who pick it up on Wii?

Set between the events of Sands of Time and Warrior Within, The Forgotten Sands harks back to the Sands of Time trilogy, seemingly refusing to acknowledge that the 2008 Prince of Persia ever existed. An especially odd decision, as Prince of Persia was hands-down my favorite game of 2008, and the lack of any sequel news is rather stupefying. For more information on The Forgotten Sands, check out our detailed article from way back in December.

To be quite honest, I hope this is true. I have extremely fond memories of playing the original Prince of Persia on my dad's old laptop a long time ago, and I'd love to relive that experience - even with updated visuals. Sure, I could always download it on the XBL/PSN store, but hey; That costs money!
