It seems a mysterious silhouette held by Pokémon music composer Junichi Masuda during the most recent episode of Pokémon Sunday (a variety show based on the animé) was a tease for a new species to be included in the new Nintendo DS game. That new (or evolved?) Pokémon is set to be revealed in just a couple of weeks.
The silhouette seen in the episode definitely baffles someone like myself (who hasn’t played or watched Pokémon in a few years), but the fans have their theories. Discussion at Nintendo Everything excitedly guessed at the new species of Pokémon -- pegging it as anything from a werewolf creature to either a Lucario or Weavile evolution.
Whatever it is, it bumps the number of species in the Pokémon universe ever closer to 500 and is a good thing for fans. While Masuda only showed the silhouette of the new Pokemon, he said he believes fans will be surprised with the new Pokémon title. The Pokémon DS game is currently untitled, but could be released in Japan this year.
So, seriously, what is it?
