While fans are eager to see the new Pokemon that await them in Sun and Moon later this year, a new leak has seemingly arrived confirming a handful of new creatures.

A number of new photos pertaining to brand new monsters in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon have begun to spring up on various message boards today. The images in question appear to be pulled directly from a trailer that was set to debut this Friday for the new games, and they showcase a pair of monsters that first made their existence known through leaks from Japan's CoroCoro magazine. These monsters now appear to have English names for fans to begin referring to them by, Wishiwashi and Pyukumuku, while a previously unknown fungus-inspired beast called Morelull joins the cast of existing creatures.

While those new monsters are all well and good, however, I'd be remiss if Alola Raichu went unnoticed. As many fans are now well aware, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will feature variants of longstanding Pocket Monsters know as Alola Forms. So far gamers have seen the likes of Vulpix, Ninetails, Sandshrew, Sandlash, and the now infamous Exeggutor get Alola forms, and it seems as if the often overlooked evolution of Pikachu, Raichu, will finally be getting a unique look in the franchise's newest region.

Now, leaks in gaming are a rather fickle thing to deal with for dedicated fans. While there's validity to a number of them, there's just as much of a chance that someone is trying to punk the entirety of the community surrounding it – a la the faux Nintendo NX controller. Since few communities are as dedicated as those surrounding Pokemon, it's obvious that some may try to dupe this flock of gamers, so it's important to keep that in mind when looking at these images.

Although some may be disappointed that these Pokemon have been revealed prematurely (provided they're legitimate) – primarily since they ruin the anticipation building for the next trailer – there are sure to be plenty of additional Pokes to look forward to in the coming weeks. With that said, hopefully the game can avoid being spoiled further, but (in the eyes of this writer) it's hard to deny that Alola Raichu is one of the better variants seen thus far in Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are set to arrive exclusively for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS on November 18, 2016.
