Ever since the arrival of Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver on the Nintendo DS, gamers have been eagerly anticipating remakes of Ruby and Sapphire. While the announcement of the titles' return were only a matter of time, gamers weren't quite sure when they'd land. Fortunately, The Pokemon Company has decided to stop beating around the bush and confirmed that Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS.

The elephant in the room may have finally been addressed by Nintendo, but the teaser trailer for the forthcoming pair of Pocket Monster games leaves a lot to be desired. Despite showcasing the cover art for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there have been absolutely no screenshots or footage released for the forthcoming titles. It's not hard to imagine that the 3D design that debuted in Pokemon X and Y will be making a triumphant return however, effectively making Hoenn a much better looking region in the process.

One significant detail that can be pulled from the teaser trailer is that both of the remakes will be released worldwide later this November. This marks the second time in franchise history that a pair of Pokemon games will be available simultaneously in a global launch, and is an important trend to maintain for a company that's just reported significant losses — especially after the latest installments in the series set a record as the fastest million-copy seller for the 3DS.

Pokemon Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire Remakes Nintendo 3DS

Since E3 2014 is quickly approaching, more details on Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are sure to be unleashed upon the hordes of eager trainers. With that in mind, this year's Nintendo Digital Event is slowly beginning to appear more tantalizing by the minute, and there's still no telling what other surprises the Big N has up its sleeves.

What do you think of the new Ruby and Sapphire remakes? Will you pick Torchic, Treeko, or Mudkip this time around?
