It's only been a week after the official release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but many are raving about the game's massive gameplay changes and open-world overhaul. The reviews of Pokemon Legends: Arceus have been quite positive, citing the breath of fresh air that it provides in comparison to the mainline titles. The game allows players to meet the ancestors of various characters seen through the series, along with ancient versions of Pokemon that can be found while traversing the world.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus provides players a real-time component to capturing Pokemon, with a more Monster Hunter-esque approach to its gameplay structure. Players can now capture Pokemon in more open world areas, with plenty of ways for trainers to explore and travel. This even extends to how players can traverse the world, where they can plan out how to get from one area to the next in order to get a certain wild Pokemon. One player discovered an incredibly helpful glitch that can help players travel around the Hisui Region.
The Pokemon Legends: Arceus glitch was discovered by @ScarletAkuma_ on Twitter, who posted a video of the glitch in action. To pull this off, the player must be holding the aim button, while also walking up a surface. This glitch demonstrates that the trainer is able to walk up the face of a mountain, but not slip or fall off. This of course allows a player to take a shortcut that skips a majority of the mountain's normal path.
A second video shows off a similar effect but on a much steeper slope. If a player keeps aiming and canceling, they are able to just slide up the side of the mountain. Comments on the tweet said that this reminded them of a helpful glitch in Skyrim that allows players to accomplish the same feat, where they are able to climb up the side of a mountain with the use of a horse.
With this glitch, ScarletAkuma proposes that this glitch could be helpful to some speedrunners of the game. Some speedrunners commented that they are thinking of optimal paths to utilize this glitch in the future, while others are trying to find similar techniques that accomplish the same goal but even faster. It might be possible fans will see speedruns similar to games like Breath of the Wild, with optimal paths that take players to the end in under an hour.
