Coming fresh off of the start of its Season of Celebration event and today's announcement that more Poke Balls are coming to PokeStops this holiday season, Pokemon GO has been on a roll with new content for players and doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

Ever since Pokemon: The First Movie debuted in 1998, fans have come to expect the annual release of a Pokemon movie each year, and this year is no different. Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle is slated to release on December 25 in Japan, and to promote the movie, Pokemon GO will be holding a special limited-time event to celebrate the movie's release.

The limited-time movie collaboration event contains a plethora of features for Pokemon GO players to look forward to. Players will receive the chance to encounter Shiny Celebi, Jessie and James, a special Explorer Pikachu, and spawns featuring Pokemon that appear in Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.

Starting on Monday, December 14 at 8 am local time, players will be able to complete Special Research for the chance to encounter Shiny Celebi, in addition to the return of Jessie and James using different Shadow Pokemon. Special free avatar items inspired by Jessie and James will also be available in the Style Shop. From Monday, December 14 at 8 am to Monday, December 21 at 10 pm local time, a special Explorer Pikachu will be appearing in the wild, as well as appearing during December 15's Pokemon Spotlight Hour.

From Monday, December 14 at 8 am to Thursday, December 17 at 10 pm local time, players will encounter more Pokemon featured in the new movie in the wild, in Raid Battles, and in 5 km Eggs. Additionally, players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Rufflet during this event as well. And finally, on December 25 from 8 am to 10 pm local time, Jessie and James will be appearing more frequently in their signature Meowth balloon.

This isn't the first time Pokemon GO has held a collaboration event with the animated series, as just last month the game held its first Animation Week celebration, featuring Special Research and spawns based on the Pokemon Journeys animated series. After a slow start upon its initial release, Pokemon GO has found its footing in these regularly timed in-game events.

These days, it seems that there are different Pokemon appearing in Pokemon GO every week, which is fitting of a series containing almost 900 unique monsters. And with the addition of a new generation of Pokemon to the game this week, it's clear that there is still plenty of content for players to experience in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices.
