Pokemon GO is in the midst of celebrating its 5th anniversary, and so it has brought back the Jump Start Special Research for new players. Pokemon GO's Jump Start Special Research tasks are designed to give new Pokemon GO players a boost in the game, giving them rewards that will help them level up faster as well as add a slew of Pokemon to their Pokedex, including the rare Dratini. However, those who are new to Pokemon GO may need some extra help if they want to complete the Jump Start Research tasks effectively.

After completing the first set of Pokemon GO Jump Start Special Research tasks, players are rewarded with a Dratini. Some players may transfer or trade the Dratini, but they should actually hang on to it. Not only is Dratini a rare Pokemon, but Pokemon GO players need one to complete the second set of objectives for the Jump Start Special Research. In fact, the second set of Jump Start Special Research tasks are all about Dratini, with players having to evolve a Dratini and take a snapshot of Dratini. They also need to earn candy walking with their buddy, which in turn rewards them with 30 Dratini candy for their troubles.

If Pokemon GO players transfer Dratini, then they won't be able to complete the second set of Jump Start tasks. Unless, of course, they happen to have an extra Dratini lying around or if they get lucky and find one out in the wild. With Dratini being one of the rarer Pokemon in Pokemon GO, though, that's highly unlikely. Ultimately, the best bet is for Pokemon GO players to always keep at least one of each type of Pokemon handy just in case they are needed for a quest.

After Pokemon GO players evolve Dratini into Dragonair, they will want to hang on to the Pokemon for awhile longer. The final step in the Pokemon GO Jump Start Special Research asks players to evolve a Dragonair into a Dragonite. Evolving Dragonair into Dragonite requires 100 Dratini candy, which would normally be hard to come by, but the other tasks on the final page make it much easier.

The first thing players will want to do is make a new friend in Pokemon GO. This will net them 60 Dratini candy, putting them over halfway to the 100 Dratini candy goal. Then the next step is to win a level 3 or higher raid. Pokemon GO Raids are doable solo up to level 3, though it will be significantly easier if players tackle this objective in a group. In any case, accomplishing this task will get Pokemon GO players another 60 Dratini candy and put them over the threshold required to evolve Dragonair into Dragonite.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
