Tons of New ‘Pokemon Black 2′ and ‘White 2′ Screenshots

2 years ago by

Finally, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are nearing their release in Japan, and anticipation is reaching a boiling point overseas. Both Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 will easily ship a surreal number of units in whichever territory they release, but Pokemon Masters in training are still avidly looking for new bits of information and photos to quench their insatiable thirst. To seemingly celebrate the hordes of money about to be raked in, Nintendo has accommodated their fans’ wishes and released hordes of brand new screenshots.

The new pictures highlight some of the exclusive areas that gamers will be exploring once the games hit retail, but they are far from an exciting portion of media that’ll get a fan’s blood pumping. Instead, they show off a very familiar look and feel, as well as a couple of version exclusive features, new allies, and the previously revealed Keldeo in its new form.

Black 2 and White 2 appear to be the sequels that everyone was expecting (and that is by no means a bad thing), but the gameplay depicted in the pictures definitely won’t blow longtime followers away. The images reflect the Japanese versions of the games, so while there is dialogue pertaining to the story of each title, it won’t spoil any major plot points for readers that aren’t fluent in the language.

Both games can be caught in Japan later this month — on June 23rd to be more precise — but no additional information has emerged on when they’ll finally be released in North America. Nintendo has remained quiet on the localization process for the set of follow-ups, and didn’t even bother touching on either of these alleged blockbusters during their E3 2012 press conference. Since Black 2 and White 2 have a launch window of “this Fall” however, more details should be cascading over the heads of Pokemon fans very soon.

So, I’m torn. I’ve loved Pokemon for ages, but I just can’t seem to get into Black and White? Why? I dislike the Starters. Now, I know most people say: “Lol, dude, just ditch the starters later anyway. They suck compared to others.” Yeah, sure, but if I don’t like them to begin with, and I don’t like the other new pokemon they’ve come up with, how am I supposed to get immersed into and addicted to this game?

That info should become known shortly after the game launches in Japan. I’d imagine that you wouldn’t have to wait too long to catch a Growlithe though. 😉

Looks great. I’m afraid anyone looking for something vastly different at this point is probably a fool. It reminds me of Dragon Quest. The rest of gaming might be changing, but I can get my classic fix from Pokemon.

True say. Longtime fans looking for a different experience should try one of the many Pokemon spin-offs currently available.

Did I see Red in one of the pictures?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!

Also, is there any word on what the starters will be?

    • Kholdstare89

I don’t believe that’s Red, but I think he is in the game. As for the starters, they’re Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott again.

The same starters? Well that stinks. You’d have thought they would have at least made a kyurem combo form.

        Wow that sucks

When are they going to make a 3D pokemon game? If they through this on the Wii U and used the tablet controller for inventory management, I’d be extremely interested! Make the world bigger and multiplayer more appealing. Also, I’d like to try fighting the pokemon in real time if it can be done properly. Either way though, I’m buying this.

Likely never, as sad as it is to say.
