Pokemon Art Academy Release Date

The month of May has been a pretty interesting one for Pokemon fans thus far, what with the recent unveiling of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS, and there doesn't appear to be any indication that the onslaught of announcements will be slowing down whatsoever. After giving gamers a brief glimpse at the in-game models of Kyogre and Groudon, Nintendo has officially announced that Pokemon Art Academy will be arriving later this year on the 3DS.

Some gamers may already be familiar with the Art Academy series that Nintendo has released in the past, and this is simply another addition to the franchise with a Pokemon spin to it. The game was previously announced to release in Japan later this June, but there didn't appear to be any sort of indication of whether or not the game would ever be released outside of the land of the rising sun.

Fortunately, The Pokemon Company has confirmed that aspiring artists from Europe, Australia, and North America can look forward to drawing some of their favorite Pokes later this year. After the game hits shelves in Japan, Europeans can look forward to Pokemon Art Academy arriving on July 4th, 2014, while Australians can mark July 5th, 2014 on their calendars. Those that reside in North America, however, will be waiting until Fall 2014 to partake in some hand-drawn Pokemon love.

Learning how to draw Pocket Monsters may not have the appeal of the more traditional adventure games in the series, but there's plenty of content en route in the form of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to appease eager fans. Admittedly, it's already a daunting task to catch 'em all, but drawing 'em all? That's a whole other league of impressive for anyone that can achieve it.

What do you think of Pokemon Art Academy? Which Pokemon will you be drawing on the 3DS later this year?

Pokemon Art Academy will appear exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in Europe on July 4th, 2014, Australia on July 5th, 2014, and North America at some point in Fall 2014.
