It’s Thursday, which means Sony has updated the PlayStation Store with new games, applications, and customizations for your PS3 and PSP. Every Thursday from here on out, we’ll be sharing the list of new content with you, as well as offering our thoughts on the better offerings of the week.
Peggle, the addictive adventure-pinball hybrid has arrived on the PS3 after several ports including Windows, OS X, Xbox Live, and the iPhone. If you haven’t played the game on other platforms, it’s definitely worth picking up. The $9.99 price point is somewhat steep since the title is significantly less expensive on a couple of the aforementioned systems. It’s also worth mentioning there’s a DLC pack Peggle Nights available this week as well – if your first dose of Peggle isn’t enough.
On the PSP portion of the store, the demo for LittleBigPlanet is available for trial – a must try, whether you are an experienced visitor to LittleBigPlanet or new to the franchise. Hopefully the demo will tide players over until the actual game shows up. LittleBigPlanet PSP launched Tuesday on UMD, though the PlayStation store download was, and remains, missing in action.
Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines comes to the PSP as well. It’s no substitute for the full Assasin’s Creed II experience on the PS3, especially with Bloodlines priced at $39.99, but the title shares a number of great features with its namesake franchise. Also worth considering – anyone who completes Bloodlines will unlock six additional weapons in Assassin’s Creed II. In addition to the larger game titles, the PSP is also getting three new Minis: D-Cube Planet, Echos, and Circles.
Finally, if you own a PSP and PS3, make sure to pick up adhocParty, a free application that allows you to use your PS3′s internet connection in order to play multiplayer PSP games with friends anywhere in the world – a great new feature. The most recent firmware update, for both your PSP and PS3, is required in order to use adhocParty.

wait a minute, if you puy ps1 games online on your ps3, do the graphics look somewhat high def or is it the same output as if you were playing re2 on ps1?

No, there isn’t any noticeable improvement – unless it’s a special release like the new God of War Collection, where the developers actually went back and updated the frame rate and definition.
