Sony is revealing the free PlayStation Plus games for July 2016, which include Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell for PS4, Fat Princess for PS3 and a Paragon bonus.

The summer heat is on, literally hotter than ever, and PlayStation Plus is showing no concern for global warming. July's PlayStation Plus games have been revealed, six games now scheduled to be available to subscribers starting at the beginning of the month. But wait, there's more! In addition to the two games each for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, Sony's adding a special bonus this month: early access to upcoming shooter-MOBA Paragon's beta.

Before getting into the Paragon details, let's break down July's PlayStation Plus loot. Here are the six games offered for free as part of July's PlayStation Plus line-up:

  • Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell - PlayStation 4
  • Furi - PlayStation 4
  • Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - PlayStation 3
  • Fat Princess - PlayStation 3
  • Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines - PS Vita
  • Prince of Persia: Revelation  - PS Vita

As usual, there are two games each for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Unlike most months, none of the PlayStation Plus titles in July will be available for multiple platforms. This is an increasingly common event in PlayStation Plus, as both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita's modern support dwindles. Perhaps it's time for Sony to cut loose games for the older platforms in favor of another PlayStation 4 title a month?

The PlayStation 4 titles of July are worlds apart. Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell is a standalone expansion to Saints Row 4 starring none other than the titular (and titillating) face, Johnny Gat. The Boss has been kidnapped from the Saints' spaceship and Johnny's going to have to go to hell and back to save them! It's Saints Row, just roll with it.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Furi is a top-down indie game with highly intense shooting and action. Players face a veritable gauntlet of 1v1 boss battles against increasingly challenging foes.

On PlayStation 3, the under-appreciated western FPS Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood will prove a highlight for any players who download it. And Fat Princess was precariously close to being the next popular Sony video game mascot.

On PS Vita, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines provides some JRPG flavor to July, accompanying Prince of Persia: Revelation to the platform which is clearly running out of bigger titles to put out with PlayStation Plus.

As for that little Paragon bonus, here's something for PlayStation 4 players to be excited about. Epic Games is making its third-person shooter MOBA free-to-play, but the game is still in early testing. After cooking for a while on PC, Paragon is ready to make the jump to PlayStation 4 with an open beta starting August 16. However, exclusively for PlayStation Plus members, an early beta will start in July. In addition, Epic will provide a Starter Pack including three "Master Challenges" which are opportunities to unlock skins, emotes and more. Opportunities, huh?

This round of PlayStation Plus goes live in early July, which should be July 5 (first Tuesday of the month).
