With the latest set of video game consoles having firmly been in the hands of consumers for over a year at this point, there's no question that some of the exclusive titles have begun to show just what the once fabled "next generation" platforms are capable of. After an initial marketing misstep by Microsoft and its Xbox One, Sony has taken a demanding lead in the console race.

Despite each platform being comparable to one another at a glance, however, the PlayStation 4 manufacturer has now launched a new commercial the claims that it has "the world's most powerful console."

The ad in question showcases a number of blockbuster titles that are either currently available on PS4 or soon will be. The only true exclusive to be found during the course of the commercial is the critically acclaimed Bloodborne, while the likes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman Arkham Knight aren't locked to any particular platform. Still, there's no questioning that they are some of the most anticipated games this year that are coming to PlayStation.

Admittedly, while many gamers would like to call into question the validity of Sony's claims, there's no questioning the fact that it is a rather solid slogan to tote within advertisements. Setting aside whether or not the console is minutely more powerful than its main competition, the Xbox One, it's a point that many fans of the format of been saying for quite sometime – only now its just more commercialized.

This particular ad is set to start airing in the UK anytime now, so it'll be interesting to see if a similar initiative is taken in North America as well. Considering that the Xbox One outsold the PS4 in April, another round of advertising could be just what Sony needs to keep the momentum of its product going. With E3 2015 quickly approaching, there are sure to be a number of reveals that will keep consumers strong on the brand though, so it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

With a noticeable lead over the competition, Sony doesn't have too much at stake with its campaigns – although the PlayStation division has been one of the only profitable areas of the company as a whole. Still, gamers undoubtedly can't wait to see what the company still has up its sleeve.
