After April Fools Day, Platinum Games fans thought the company's Platinum 4 announcements were complete. The fourth announcement, an April Fool's Day joke, was a SHMUP sequel to Terra Cresta made in partnership with Hamster Corp. Fans were initially confused, thinking the game could be real. It turns out that Platinum was just goofing around, but that it really does have another announcement to make.

Friday morning, Platinum Games revealed a "Bonus Stage" announcement via its Platinum 4 website. Platinum appears to have another game in development. No details were provided for the game beyond an ambiguous "?????" label and a release date implying a launch in 2020.

A post on the official Platinum Games Twitter account makes clear that the studio isn't going to be leaving fans hanging. More information about the Bonus Stage will apparently be coming soon. The studio just didn't want fans to be stuck wondering about the April Fools' joke for too long. No timeline was provided for when Bonus Stage information will be made available.

Two of the other Platinum 4 announcements were already about new games, making the Bonus Stage Platinum's third confirmed game. The first game is The Wonderful 101: Remastered for PC, PS4, and Switch. The second game is Platinum's first self-published game, known only as Project G.G. What else Platinum remains to be seen, but clearly the studio is making the most of its newfound independence.
