In all of the kerfuffle over Resident Evil 6's release date moving forward and Lost Planet 3 being announced, one piece of news was notably absent from Capcom's big media event: a PC version of Capcom's arctic shooter. At the end of the Lost Planet 3 teaser trailer both the PS3 and Xbox 360 were mentioned as platforms for the game, which releases early next year, but the PC was not.

Worry not PC players, because Capcom has come out to rectify their mistake by revealing that Lost Planet 3, under the development of Spark Unlimited, will be coming to the PC just like the two games that preceded it. Unfortunately, no mention is made of whether or not the PC version of Lost Planet will be a concurrent release, but we figure not.

Both Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Lost Planet 2, mild successes in their own right, released first for the consoles (Lost Planet 1 was actually a 360 exclusive for a time, but Lost Planet 2 was multiplatform) before making their way to the PC. Based on Capcom's lack of an outright PC announcement of Lost Planet 3, we figure the PC version will not be releasing early next year.

Also on the PC announcement front comes the news that Dark Souls, successor to the incredibly difficult Demon Souls, will be making its way to the personal computer with the Prepare to Die Edition. Beyond the obvious PC improvements, Dark Souls for the PC will also feature an enhanced PvP experience, and a new chapter titled Artorias of the Abyss. Artorias will include new areas, enemies, and bosses — and it will probably be just as difficult as every other part of Dark Souls. But the fans asked for it, and they received it.

And finally, for a little bit of PC-to-console port news is a video showing the differences between The Witcher 2 on the PC and the Xbox 360 port of the game, which is set to release next week. The game looks absolutely stunning on the PC, and should definitely not disappoint on the 360, but it's always interesting to see how much of the original product the developer was able to preserve.

See, we pack in a little bit of news for everybody even when focusing primarily on the PC. Two hot titles (one old and one new) are making their way to the PC, and perhaps the PC's biggest title will be arriving on the consoles with most of its visual panache in tact.

Are you looking forward to playing either Lost Planet 3 or Dark Souls on the PC? Does the console version of The Witcher 2 hold up against its PC counterpart?

Lost Planet 3 is slated for a 2013 release on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

The Witcher 2 is coming to the Xbox 360 on April 17, 2012.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition releases August 24, 2012 for the PC.
