Overwatch boasts an expansive cast of colorful characters from all different nationalities, making the game a popular inspiration for cosplay artists. The game's large variety of character skins also give cosplayers options to choose which iteration of their favorite hero they will try to recreate, whether that be Immortal Soldier 76 or a Diablo-inspired Demonic Brigitte. One veteran cosplay artist decided to give Widowmaker a shot, and it's safe to say she did an incredible job.

Widowmaker was one of the first Overwatch heroes to get an animated short centered on her character, second only to Tracer. She's a deadly sniper in the hands of a skilled player, as she can either keep characters from recklessly running toward objectives or sneak behind enemy lines for quick kills. Though she has gone though a redesign in Overwatch 2, her original look is one of the most recognizable skins in the game, and this classic look is what cosplayer Super Sailor Virgo chose to recreate with incredible attention to detail.

Super Sailor Virgo (a.k.a Elle) is a popular cosplay artist with over 45,000 followers on Instagram. She has portrayed characters from all across media, including Zelda from The Legend of Zelda series of games, Ty Lee from the TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Maleficent's look from the 2014 film, Maleficent. This time she took on Widowmaker, complete with headgear, a weapon, and lots of body paint.

The body suit looks incredibly well made, catching the detail of the web-like pattern on Widowmaker's thighs. Not all of Widowmaker's looks emphasize her yellow eyes, but Elle's haunting yellow eyes really stand out against the rose and fuchsia colors of her suit. Even more impressive is her expression, which manages to successfully capture Widowmaker's sly smirk and slightly raised eyebrows as she pins down another Overwatch hero in her sights.

Though this classic Widowmaker look has been changed with her Overwatch 2 redesign, it is possible it will still be an available skin when Overwatch 2 eventually releases. According to developers working on the game, Overwatch 2 will make several changes to improve upon the original game, one of which is the inclusion of "hundreds" of Hero Missions. These hero missions will apparently contain minor story elements, which could give fans even more insight into characters like Widowmaker.

Widowmaker's past has been detailed in the Overwatch comics, but there is still more to learn about the French assassin. There's a lot hiding behind those eyes, and Elle's cosplay really captures her essence and mystique.

Overwatch is a available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
