During a recent game of Overwatch 2, one Moira player prioritizes damage over healing, completely ignoring a weak Bastion player in the process. There are currently three roles in Overwatch 2: players can play as support, DPS, and tank. While the duties of each category can sometimes intersect, each has a specific job to carry out on the battlefield.

As the name suggests, the primary role of a support hero in Overwatch 2 is to heal and aid their teammates. There are currently eight characters that make up this role, including new hero Kiriko along with the seven returning healers from the original Overwatch. While these heroes can output damage in addition to healing, the key to playing them well is finding the right balance between the two, which not all players have managed to figure out.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as StarStruckYeet shared an Overwatch 2 clip in which they revealed that some Moira players still need to work on their balance between healing and damage. In the clip, the Reddit user played Bastion as they attacked the enemy team near the robot on the Push Map called Esperanca. After taking significant damage, they backed away from the point, hoping to find someone to heal them.

As they retreated from the battle, StarStruckYeet spotted an allied Moira heading back to the point from spawn. While the Reddit user thought that they were about to get the healing they needed so they could jump back into the action, Moira had other plans. Instead of restoring the health of the Bastion player, the support ran right past the player as if they were not even there. Adding insult to injury, Moira launched a damage orb toward the fight when they could have sent a healing orb in the direction of StarStruckYeet.

It appears that this is not the first time that this type of situation has happened to StarStruckYeet, as they said “average moira player” when posting the clip to Reddit. In addition, this seems to have occurred to a number of other players, as the post has already received more than 5.1K upvotes. “Dudes got that 5 FOV,” one gamer joked in reference to the oblivious healer.

It is worth noting that ignoring teammates is not something only support players have been known to do. There have been numerous examples on Reddit over the years of DPS and tank players leaving their teammates behind only to rush in and die at the hands of the enemy team. In addition, not all Moira mains are unaware, as numerous skilled gamers have mastered the character and have used her abilities to heal and damage effectively. While it is hard to tell what will happen next in Overwatch 2, one thing is for sure; clips of both good and bad players will likely find their way onto Reddit in the coming days.

Overwatch 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
