An unidentified person presented actress and Booksmart director Olivia Wilde with a mysterious manila envelope during her presentation on stage at CinemaCon. The director was introducing a brand-new trailer for her upcoming project Don't Worry Darling when the envelope was delivered, containing legal documents from Jason Sudeikis.

The legal document delivered to Wilde were custody papers from the award-winning star of Ted Lassos Wilde and Sudeikis have been separated since late 2020 but share two children. The baffling situation took place inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in front of many industry insiders and press. The unidentified individual approached the stage during the director's presentation for Don't Worry Darling and placed the manila envelope on stage. Per Deadline, the intrusion by the unidentified individual was perplexing and confused those in charge of running the convention. How the individual could get into the Colosseum is unknown, which raises some security concerns. Mitch Neuhauser, the Managing Director of CinemaCon, highlighted that the convention had never had an on stage incident such as this, but measures are surfacing to reevaluate security procedures to ensure unauthorized individuals cannot gain entry.

Many questioned why Sudeikis would have legal documents delivered to Wilde during her time on stage at the convention, but it appears that the award-winning actor did not know when Wilde would receive the documents. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, an insider close to the situation stated, "Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered, as this would solely be up to the process service company involved, and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner."

Despite the unsettling situation, the audience applauded Wilde's presentation after the trailer reveal for Don't Worry Darling. The film will be Wilde's second feature directorial outing, starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles. Wilde indicated that the film is a love letter to films that pushed boundaries, such as The Truman Show and Inception. It's unclear when the official trailer will surface for the public, but it's evident that many are excited about Wilde's new offering.

Don't Worry Darling looks to hit theaters on September 23, 2022.
