Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Electronic Arts and Criterion, makers of the now classic Burnout Paradise, announced a Limited Editon to the upcoming Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. This edition will feature six new vehicles, two of which will be only available in this Limited Edition.

Check the video for these new cars in action:

Criterion is a developer whose commitment to it’s community is unrivaled, providing countless updates to Burnout Paradise. It seems this time around they’re starting things off from launch with these exclusive cars. When you purchase the limited edition you will be treated to the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and the Shelby GT500, which will be only available in the Limited Edition. We’ve all heard this before with other games with exclusives, so I expect to see these in future DLC and given Criterion’s track record, we’ll definitely see some DLC for this game. Next up we have the Audi TT RS Coupe, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Porche Cayman S and the Dodge Challenger SRT8. These four will also be available in the regular edition as unlockable cars. You can see pictures of these cars below.

I’m a huge fan of the Need for Speed franchise, more specifically Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, which holds a very special place in my gaming heart. My friend and I played to the point where we could make each turn with expert precision. Cops were no match for us as we raced in tandem through mountain passes leaving nothing but a pixelated cloud of dust in our wake. Burnout Paradise was my favorite racer in this console generation, and when I heard Criterion was making a Hot Pursuit game I immediately found ecstatic beyond belief.

While I was able to contain myself after hearing today’s announcement, I couldn’t help channeling Will Smith from Independence Day yelling,”I have got to get me one of these!” Ranters are you excited for this new Limited Editon of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit? The game launches November 16th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

  7. Wow! A lot of people are anxious for this game. I thought I was the only one.

    • Nope! I was on board as soon as I knew Criterion would be developing it. Then the name…HOT PERSUIT! First day purchase.

  8. Oooh, Shelby GT500… Hope it’s the 2011 version and not the 2010, the 2010 was far too heavy on the front end… They fixed that for 2011. :-)

Better yet, the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang should be in this game, lol.

  9. I LOVE the first Hot Pursuit so I’m all over this. Game looked beautiful at E3!
