My Hero Academia is easily shaping up to be one of the greatest shonen anime of all time. Fans have complete faith that this series will end on a high note — especially given the fact that the manga is rumored to be reaching its conclusion. Yet, fans are happy with how things are playing out regardless.

With the fifth season of My Hero Academia right around the corner, fans are hoping certain new characters will enjoy way more screen time than they've been privy so far. These characters, in particular, have the potential to become major players in the events to come. Hopefully, the anime plays its cards right and gives these characters the screen time they deserve.

10 Yuga Aoyama

Yuga Aoyama in My Hero Academia

Some fans might not like the idea of Aoyama becoming a pivotal character in Season 5, given the increased focus on his character near the end of the last season. However, there's no denying that there's still a certain level of intrigue to his character.

Given the already tense dynamic of a traitor existing at U.A. High School, audiences can only wait and see how this character's arc will play out in the fifth season.

9 Eijiro Kirishima

Red Riot from My Hero Academia

Red Riot absolutely shone in Season 4, making him an instant favorite in the eyes of fans. His character has definitely been a surprise breakout of sorts. Some still find it hard to believe how a Quirk as simple as hardening's one body has become such an intriguing ability.

His powers have a ton of potential, and it's only a given that people would like to see how Kirishima's character — and power — develops over the course of the next season.

8 Fumikage Tokoyami

Out of all the members of Class 1-A, one can argue that Tokoyami is the most underutilized character of the lot. His power is amazing and unique, and audiences deserve to see more of it!

His Dark Shadow is a truly unique power with plenty of potential. Tokoyami is already taking the steps required to harness the power of his Quirk even further, and only time will tell just how effective this can prove to be.

7 Himiko Toga

The villains of My Hero Academia are intriguing in their own right. Himiko is particularly notable in this regard, with her infectious and highly entertaining personality that shines every time she has the spotlight.

It would be a win-win situation for everybody if this fan-favorite yandere played a major role in the events to come. Given that the League of Villains is destined for greater things — something that was quite evident by the end of the fourth season — it seems that this fantasy will soon become a reality.

6 Twice

Surprisingly enough, My Hero Academia has focused quite a bit on a character who seemed completely unremarkable — until the series revealed just how much of a conundrum his Quirk actually poses.

A brief yet intense focus on Twice has turned him into one of the most intriguing villains in the series. Speculating on how his wildly unpredictable personality will develop over the course of the series is truly tantalizing.

5 Hawks

Hawks from My Hero Academia

The latest superhero to make his presence known in resounding fashion is Hawks. He's the new Number 2 in the Hero Rankings, post All Might's forced retirement.

His first impression might have made him out to be somewhat wily and self-serving. However, his later appearances have made him out to be a respectable and down-to-earth superhero. Hawk understands his limitations and works around them for the good of everyone around him — a hero's top priority.

4 Eri

Eri in My Hero Academia

Season 4 ended on a high note for this character. Viewers saw a once morose and saddened Eri smiling for the first time, courtesy of the efforts Midoriya and the rest of Class 1-A made to make the School Festival a massive success. It's a given that viewers will want to see how she will develop over time.

What makes Eri such an interesting character is her Quirk, which is bursting with incredible possibility. The idea of reversing one's existence is a prospect that's as powerful as it is scary, and Eri's power will reach incredible heights once she masters this Quirk.

3 Endeavor

Endeavor Using Hellflame in My Hero Academia

For the longest time, Endeavor was in All Might's shadow. The former Symbol of Hope ended up defeating any adversary that threatened to break the peace of this world — which irked the fiery hero to no end. When the vestiges of One for All disappeared in All Might, Endeavor had no choice but to become the new Symbol of Hope to help the residents of Japan feel safe.

Given the valiant manner in which Endeavor fought against a highly advanced Nomu — one of the greatest fights in My Hero Academia — it seems that this change in Endeavor's character is certainly for the better. His presence in Season 5 should capitalize on this wildly interesting character arc.

2 Dabi

Dabi in My Hero Academia

Endeavor isn't the only flame-powered superhero who is shaping up to be a treat to watch. The intriguing Dabi is poised to become an important figure as well.

In fact, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that his powers are related to Endeavor in some manner — an angle that will definitely be quite interesting to watch if Season 5 decides to establish these tense relations. And speaking of people whose powers are related to Endeavor...

1 Shoto Todoroki

Todoroki Using Both His Elements At The Same Time

In an amazing moment in the second season, Todoroki and Midoriya had one of the best fights in anime history. However, since then, Todoroki's presence in the show has been fairly muted.

Fans might find this somewhat irksome, but there's no denying that Todoroki's character is clearly destined for great things. Audiences can only wait and see the role he plays over time in the series — hopefully he'll shine in Season 5.
