Music Game Stores Hit Xbox Marketplace

Yesterday the music stores that were promised in the Xbox Dashboard “Twitter” update in November became available.  The Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Lips games have their DLC songs available on their own tab in the Xbox Marketplace.

The stores are selected from the Xbox Marketplace channel and are accessible without your game disc in the drive.  The song selection screens are decorated similar to the in-game song stores, show the difficulty of the song by instrument type, and allow you to preview a portion of the song.

It has always been a pain to start up the game to access a proper store. Often I found myself browsing the marketplace by title and artist and using YouTube on a nearby computer to watch a music video or even a game play video so I can listen to the song to see if I know it. This will clean up the new release list on the market place and make it easier for you to spend money on one of over 1,000 songs available for Rock Band.
