Mortal Kombat X has been wildly successful on consoles, receiving rave reviews from critics and gamers alike. Those who have been playing the game on PC, however, have been experiencing a handful of debilitating bugs and framerate issues, especially while playing online. This has, understandably, led to many unhappy Mortal Kombat X PC players.

Fortunately, it looks like those issues should be gone tomorrow, at least according to NetherRealm’s head honcho, Ed Boon. In a Twitch stream today, Boon promised PC gamers an update on May 5th that should fix all the various issues and problems the players are experiencing in Mortal Kombat X.

“Tomorrow there will be a patch for the PC version. It literally brings the PC version to parity with the console versions and there’s huge improvements coming to that version. That’s a lot of the feedback we have been getting back; people with PC issues, so we’re really excited to get them the version they deserve.”

One of the biggest complaints about Mortal Kombat X on PC has been its poor performance online. Players have voiced their concerns about most aggressively about consistent connection problems when trying to play against other fighters. Boon shared the developer’s plans to fix these issues and to continue improving the online multiplayer for PC gamers. The NetherRealm boss offered these thoughts:

"We are constantly working on the online. We've taken steps to improve on it. It's certainly better than where we were at launch, but by no means do we feel like we're at where we want or need to be."

One solution included with the patch will let players to back out of matches if the connection is less than optimal. Even if this doesn’t fully correct the issue, it will at least allow players to control who they fight based on each other’s connection strength.

Boon also revealed that his team is working to improve the load times for PlayStation 4 players. He said they are working to speed up the loading times specifically for the living towers, the Faction Wars page, and leader boards for the Sony console players. That update should be coming very soon.

Hopefully tomorrow’s update truly brings the PC version of Mortal Kombat X to the level expected by both the players and the folks at NetherRealm. Our experience with the game on console was enough to make Mortal Kombat X worth recommending.
