Mortal Kombat X Patch Paves the Way for Predator DLC - Predator bio

Kombat Pack owners have two more DLC expansions to look forward to for Mortal Kombat X. NetherRealm kicked off the post-launch DLC support for the extremely popular fighting game with the addition of 80's slasher movie icon Jason Voorhees as a part of the Horror Pack, and now another 80's film killer is set to make his debut sooner rather than later.

The latest patch for Mortal Kombat X brings with it a number of gameplay fixes and tweaks, but more importantly, it lays the groundwork for the upcoming Prey DLC pack, which is headlined by the inclusion of Predator from the film series of the same name.

There are four major tweaks to the gameplay to go along with the various balancing updates applied to the bulk of the game's fighters. It is now possible to switch off auto saving of Match Replays from the options menu, and players can now exit a King of the Hill session as the king and it won't count as a loss. NetherRealm has also added new brutalities to the game for fans to discover (the last patch added an old lady brutality). The fourth update in the patch applies specifically to the PlayStation 4 version, as players will now be able to turn off their DualShock 4 controllers once a fight stick has been paired to the console.

In the meantime, a user by the name of LaidBackOne from the Mortal Kombat fan website TestYourMight, which allows users to meet up and plan competitive events for all NetherRealm fighting games, has discovered the new character bios for not only Predator, but the four new DLC skins as well. Predator will be joined by additional skins for Jax, Johnny Cage, and Scorpion.

Three of the skins are directly tied to the Predator film. Jax will be voiced by Carl Weathers, and his new skin is styled after the character Dillon that Weathers played in the film. Johnny Cage's look is modeled after Arnold Schwarzenegger and is simply called "Commando", whereas Scorpion is getting a trippy-looking infrared costume. Scorpion will also receive a second skin unrelated to Predator that adds his classic look to MKX.

We've seen Predator in action a little bit in the past, but NetherRealm has mostly kept a lid on the character. In the days that led up to the release of Jason and Tanya, NetherRealm released trailers highlighting their fatalities and more. Considering that, don't be surprised to see a fatality montage or a hype video for Predator hitting the web within the next week.

It's also likely that Predator and the rest of the Prey pack will join the rest of the combatants in Mortal Kombat X in early July. After all, Jason Voorhees was available near the start of May, and Tanya was made available in early June. Assuming NetherRealm is finished working on the character and implementing the new skins, there's no reason for them to break their pattern of releasing new DLC at the top of every month.

Mortal Kombat X is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There is currently no concrete release date for the Prey DLC pack, which will include the new Predator character and four new skins.
