A new video for Mortal Kombat X shows off the fatalities, brutalities, and X-Ray attacks of Kombat Pack 2 DLC character Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

NetherRealm Studios is hoping to keep Mortal Kombat X, arguably 2015's biggest fighting game, relevant well into 2016. This is being accomplished by Kombat Pack 2, a new wave of DLC that is adding classic Mortal Kombat characters to roster along with guest characters like the Xenomorph from Alien and the cannibalistic Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Speaking of Leatherface, a video has been compiled that shows off his moves in Mortal Kombat X, including his fatalities, brutalities, and X-Ray attacks. As one might expect, Leatherface's movesets look to his film appearances for inspiration, and any fan of the slasher horror icon should be pleased with the way the character is being represented in the game.

Leatherface's attacks seem to revolve largely around his signature chainsaw, as well as a ballpoint hammer. For example, in one of his fatalities, Leatherface whacks his opponent on the head with the hammer, hangs him up with meat hooks, and then slices his body in half, causing his enemy's intestines to the ground with a sickening thud.

Besides showing off Leatherface's attacks, the trailer also gives players a glimpse at some alternate costumes Leatherface will have access to in Mortal Kombat X. It seems as though Leatherface's main attire will consist of a butcher's apron, but he will also be able to dress up in a suit with a make-up covered face mask as seen at the end of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film.

As we've seen from the Alien Xenomorph fatalities and now Leatherface's fatalities, NetherRealm is going to great lengths to capture the spirit of the source material. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that has followed Mortal Kombat X closely, however, as past DLC characters like Predator and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th have received similar treatments in the past. Slasher horror film fans should be excited to get the chance to play as Leatherface in Mortal Kombat X later this year.

What do you think of Leatherface's attacks in Mortal Kombat X? Are you impressed with his fatalities, or were you expecting something even more gruesome? Mortal Kombat X is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Leatherface and other Kombat Pack 2 characters will not be available on the PC version, however.
