The Mortal Kombat series is no stranger to guest characters, but Mortal Kombat X might have the most interesting cameos to date. Previous games in the series have seen the likes of Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Kratos (God of War) stop by, but Mortal Kombat X is upping the ante by featuring the most iconic slasher movie character of all time.

Freddy's chief rival, Jason Voorhees, is being added to Mortal Kombat X in the game's first DLC pack. A full reveal, which will include a look at Jason's moves, Fatalities, and more, is coming soon on Mortal Kombat X's official Twitch channel.

For those players who want to add Jason to the Mortal Kombat roster (and let's be honest, who doesn't?), he will be available via the game's $30 season pass, also known as the Kombat Pack. The Kombat Pack includes access to the Jason DLC, aka the Horror Pack, as well as the already available Samurai Pack and three future DLC expansions.

In addition to Jason Voorhees, the Horror Pack features three new skins for some of the creepier characters from the game. Ermac, Mileena, and Reptile will all receive new costumes, which can be seen below:

The future DLC packs, featuring Predator (from the film series of the same name) and the classic Mortal Kombat characters Tanya and Tremor, will also include new skins for the base roster as well. Other alternate skins will be released for free, coinciding with the game's future updates. Previously, a new costume for Sub-Zero arrived alongside the first post-launch patch, adding the character's "Klassic" look to the game.

As for other potential DLC characters, Ed Boon hinted that a Mortal Kombat X Story Pack DLC might be released. The Story Pack DLC would make characters that appear in the story mode but aren't playable (Baraka, Rain, and Sindel) available on the main roster. PC gamers who have Mortal Kombat X can already play as these characters by using a mod.

Besides skins and DLC characters, NetherRealm Studious has an extensive DLC campaign planned, with more details to be announced in the future. Additionally, some intrepid fans discovered that there are plans for at least two packs that add classic Fatalities from the series to the latest Mortal Kombat game.

Mortal Kombat X is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is also set to hit PS3 and Xbox 360 at a later date in 2015. The Horror Pack DLC will be available on May 5th for Kombat Pack owners, and available to purchase separately one week later for everyone else.
