One of the benefits of games like Mortal Kombat X is the opportunity for developer NetherRealm Studios to draw out the excitement leading to the game’s launch. With the plethora of main characters in the game, NetherRealm Studios has meticulously revealed one or two characters at a time, while also hinting at others joining the fight. This not only gets gamers excited for the Mortal Kombat X characters who are confirmed, but also sparks discussion about potential fighters.

Yesterday, word leaked that Predator would, in fact, be coming to Mortal Kombat X, after having first being rumored last month. The leak came by way of the Xbox One store, which revealed that Predator would be included in a Kombat Pack, along with some other characters and skins. With the cat out of the bag, the Mortal Kombat X PR Team today officially announced that Predator will be a playable character in the upcoming game.

Mortal Kombat X DLC Character List

According to the announcement, the Kombat Pack DLC season pass will consist of four smaller packs for Mortal Kombat X: The Ultimate Horror Pack, The Klassic Pack #1, The Predator/Prey Pack and The Klassic Pack #2. Details of each pack are below:

  • The Ultimate Horror Pack
    • Playable character Jason Voorhees
    • Horror skins Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile and Pharaoh Ermac
  • The Klassic Pack #1:
    • Playable character Tanya
    • Klassic skins for Kano, Sonya and Liu Kang
  • The Predator / Prey Pack:
    • Playable character Predator
    • Predator-themed skins Commando Johnny, Infrared Scorpion and Carl Weathers as Jax
  • The Klassic Pack #2:
    • Playable character, Tremor
    • Klassic skins for Quan Chi, Jax and Kung Lao

In addition to Predator, Mortal Kombat veterans will be excited to see Tanya and Tremor make the roster. Tanya was introduced in Mortal Kombat 4, and has been a regular character in the series since then. We aren’t surprised to see the femme fatale return to the Mortal Kombat stage, as she’s been an oft-requested fighter for the Mortal Kombat X roster.

Tremor was present in both Mortal Kombat: Special Forces and 2011’s Mortal Kombat on PlayStation Vita, though he was only playable in Challenge Mode. Mortal Kombat X will be gamers’ first real opportunity to see what the fighter can do, but if he is a worthwhile playable character, we have no doubt he’ll return for future games in the franchise.

The final character added to the mix is Jason Voorhees, who was officially announced as DLC last week. While little is known about what the Friday the 13th persona will bring to the Mortal Kombat arena, we’re definitely excited to see what he has in store.

The Kombat Pack will be included in the Mortal Kombat X Kollector’s Edition, Limited Edition and Premium Edition. It will also be available for purchase separately for $29.99 USD.

The Kombat Pack is expected to release alongside Mortal Kombat X on April 14, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
