Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studios announces on Twitter that the next round of DLC fighters for Mortal Kombat X will be revealed during The Game Awards 2015.

Earlier this year, fighting game fans were treated to Mortal Kombat X, which released to critical acclaim and strong sales. The game has managed to remain popular months after launch, but those that have stopped playing may soon have an excuse to return, as new DLC fighters are set to be revealed in just a few days.

The reveal of the next round of DLC fighters for Mortal Kombat X will take place this Thursday, December 3rd, during The Game Awards 2015 event. We're not sure exactly how many characters will be announced, but if the first Kombat Pack is any indication, it is likely that at least four more DLC fighters will be coming to Mortal Kombat X by the end of 2016.

There have been an exhausting amount of fighters in the Mortal Kombat franchise over the years, so the identity of the new DLC fighters is anyone's guess. One likely possibility is that Night Wolf will be added to the game as rumored, but otherwise, there's no real way of knowing, and Ed Boon's Kombat Pack 2 tease from a few months back offers little clues.

It's especially difficult to guess which fighters will be added to Mortal Kombat X not only because of the many original fighters from the franchise's past, but also due to the possibility of guest characters. The first round of DLC fighters for Mortal Kombat X featured the likes of Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th as well as the Predator, so it won't be all that surprising to see more film characters make their way into the game as a part of Kombat Pack 2.

And with the announcement of Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 coming to Super Smash Bros., it seems like any character is a possibility for fighting games. Ultimately, we have to take a "wait and see" approach when it comes to the next round of DLC characters in Mortal Kombat X, but at least the wait won't be long - the big reveal will take place this coming Thursday, December 3rd during The Game Awards 2015.
