Mortal Kombat 11 has a slew of DLC characters on the horizon, with one datamine suggesting that there would be 19 total MK11 DLC fighters, but only a handful of them have been revealed. Kombat Pack 1 is set to add Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn in the coming months, yet there are still 2 empty slots for the first set of DLC characters. Now, director Ed Boon has trolled his fans by suggesting that John Wick could be a potential DLC fighter.

Before moving forward, it's worth mentioning that there is no way to tell if Ed Boon is once again just trolling the Mortal Kombat 11 fan base, or if John Wick could actually be coming to the gory fighting game at some point in the future. However, given his reputation and the circumstances of the tease, it seems much likelier to be a troll than the real thing.

On Twitter, Ed Boon shared an image posted by Mortal Kombat 11 game designer Brian Lebaron where the latter was making a joke about John Wick with co-workers from NetherRealm Studios. Boon added the comment #JohnWickKonfirmed, trolling fans about the addition of the character. The joke may have originated because one of the people in the picture loosely bears resemblance to Keanu Reeves, but many fans weren't laughing at Boon's troll.

In fact, several Mortal Kombat 11 fans have grown tired of Boon's trolling, sharing the opinion that it is mostly non-information and a lack of transparency. It is understandable, as many have already paid for these characters, and while two DLC fighters are perhaps being purposely being kept a secret, the lack of a time frame/estimate for release has soured a solid portion of the community.

It seems likely that Boon is aware of his growing reputation, so we wouldn't rule out the possibility of Boon using his reputation as a troll to reveal something that no one would believe. On the other hand, it's probably Boon just being Boon, so we wouldn't hold our breath in hopes of seeing John Wick as one of the confirmed Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighters either, though many would enjoy playing the Baba Yaga.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development.
