After leaving fans with another major character death, tragic battles against thieves and the government, and the end of the "plan" as we know it, Money Heist is keeping hearts racing with its unanswered mysteries. Here are some of the most crucial questions fans are dying to get answered in the last part of season 5 this December.Warning: MAJOR Spoilers for Money Heist ahead.

7 How Will Rafael Play A Role In The Final Season?

Berlin and Rafael in tuxedos on a boat

Season 5 introduced a brand new character named Rafael de Fonollosa, a young, tech-savvy MIT graduate who was abandoned by his birth father, Berlin. Wanting to reconnect with his son to recruit him into his team of thieves, Berlin takes Rafael on a charming and thrilling heist to give him a taste of the criminal life.

The flashbacks showing Berlin and Rafael's adventure were a beautiful sequence in between the grim events of the present. Though they had nothing to do with the Bank of Spain heist in season 5 part 1, they will absolutely have to play a role in the final part of the fifth season. It is predicted that Rafael will come to the rescue to help the robbers escape the bank, but that is still unclear.

6 Will Tokyo's Death Affect The Plan?

tokyo money heist

The first part of season 5 ended with Tokyo's sacrifice to protect her gang from Gandia and the special forces that were sent to kill them. She pulled all the pins of the grenades on her vest as the enemy approached her, resulting in them all going out in a huge bang. This clearly wasn't a part of the plan that the Professor, Berlin, and Palermo created.

Will Tokyo's death cause a major change in how the events of the heist play out? Tokyo was a valuable member of the gang, contributing her much-needed firepower and fearless, aggressive attacks. With her now deceased, Rio and the others will also be wounded emotionally, which could also hurt their chances of success.

5 Is Arturo Dead?

Injured Arturo begging for his life

It's a major rule in films and shows that if the audience doesn't see a character die on camera, they are not officially dead. Arturo left the Bank of Spain still alive, after being brutally shot and partially revived by Stockholm. The sexual assaulter was about to finally kick the bucket but survived only barely after being sent to a medical team outside of the Bank.

Since Arturo didn't die from his gunshot right away, it is possible that he will recover from his wounds and live on to frustrate viewers another day. However, this show always throws curveballs, so nothing is confirmed until part 2 of season 5 is released this December!

4 Will The Remaining Couples Stay Strong Or Split Up?

This season really didn't want the protagonist couples in the gang to stay together. Stockholm and Denver started off the season already on the rocks, after having a big fight days before the start of the Bank of Spain heist. Their relationship began in their first dangerous heist and became unraveled in the second. There were moments where they reconciled and seemed to want to try again, but now with Manila confessing her love to Denver and Stockholm being driven to insanity by Arturo's (possible) death, things are incredibly unclear.

The Professor and Lisbon's relationship is also at risk, with the former in a threatening position with Sierra and Lisbon being trapped in the Bank where she could die or be arrested. Rio and Tokyo's relationship also clearly came to end this season, with the former's valiant death.

3 Will Alicia Sierra Turn In The Professor?

Alicia Sierra holding pistol up to the Professors head

The Professor was stuck in a less than desirable situation with Alicia for the entirety of Season 5 so far. She had him tied up and weaponless until her water broke and he had to help her deliver the baby. They connected through this intense series of events, and with Alicia now being pursued by the law, it seemed like the two might team up to save each other.

However, after the birth of her daughter, Alicia is seen sneaking a small pair of plyers into her sleeve. She clearly does not trust or respect the Professor and his crew and is ready to turn on them at just the right moment. Fans will have to wait for the next episodes of the thrilling Netflix show to find out whether Alicia will betray them and turn them in or let them escape.

2 How Will The Gang Get The Gold Out?

The Professor and his Crew of Thieves

The thieves are faced with endless issues at the end of the first five episodes of season 5. They are being shot at by the army and now have no clear plan on how to get the gold out of the Bank of Spain without getting caught. Their original idea will no longer work, so they must now formulate a new plan on the fly.

They may also have to abandon the gold altogether and focus their attention on escaping the Bank and saving their own lives. There aren't any hints on how the team plans to get the gold out, so hopefully, season 5 part 2 will reveal this to viewers.

1 Willl They Escape The Bank?

The Professor, Tokyo, Rio and others lined up in red jumpsuits

Though fans of Money Heist are hoping to see the successful escape of the Professor and his team of thieves, things aren't looking hopeful for them. After facing so many huge blows to their plan and losing a major member of their team, it seems improbable that the group will be leaving the Bank of Spain alive and with the gold.

The team already got away with their first crazy heist in seasons 1 and 2, so the show could turn things around and make their second heist a failure! Things could swing both ways, and more major characters could see their untimely end coming in the final 5 episodes. We will just have to wait and see.
