Despite a dramatic year and a half over at Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare 3 is on-track for a holiday release. The first trailer for the highly-anticipated follow-up exploded onto the Internet last week and, predictably, culled plenty of buzz for the upcoming Call of Duty title.

The trailer features plenty of action and explosive set-pieces in a number of well-know locales from across the globe. Now, we've got an updated fan-made version of the trailer that adds an epic score to the mix - as Modern Warfare 3 meets the iconic Inception trailer track, "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey.

The fan-made trailer was put together by the guys at Game Blurb - by essentially cranking up the volume on the Inception track and placing it over the original audio (since the trailer's sound effects and music are intertwined).

The experiment was actually an attempt to feature the similarities between the two scores - asserting that the Modern Warfare 3 trailer score essentially ripped-off Hemsey's music. While it's worth noting that there are similarities in the two tracks (not to mention "Mind Heist" syncs perfectly with the beat-to-beat onscreen action), the real shocker is how much better the trailer is with the iconic track playing over the assorted scenes.

Now that you've seen the Modern Warfare 3 "Mind Heist" mash-up, if you're interested in the potential similarities between the two audio tracks (and whether or not the Activision marketing department ripped-off Hemsey's work), definitely rewatch the launch trailer again.

It's probably a stretch to say that Activision is in the wrong here but there's no question they drew a lot of inspiration from the "Mind Heist" track.
