Been upset with people abusing the care package glitch in Modern Warfare 2? Then Infinity Ward has a gift for you. Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward, aka “fourzerotwo” announced in a tweet that a patch for the problem, as well as a few others, would be coming soon.
According to a post on Infinity Ward’s website, the patch has already made its way to PS3 consoles, but is awaiting certification by Microsoft for the Xbox 360. The full details of the patch are included below.
- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Fixes to prevent various XP hacks.
I haven’t found the care package problem to be too prevalent as I’ve been playing lately, but it’s always nice to hear that the glitch is no longer with us.

Go to Network Settings and disable Media Servers. That should fix it. but if you need to share media on your network some other time just turn it on for that. It's a PS# problem, not related to the game.

My son and I noticed it recently, and of course it soon spread like wildfire with his friends. When playing on yesterday (2/7/10) it was all the rage. I hate that. It's bad enough to look at the leaderboards and see the 1st 250 scores and know they were hacked, then to have to deal with campers, spawn killers, and care package kooks more than enough. Sound like a rant..yeah, maybe I'm just jealous that 11 year olds were smart enough to figure em all out!
