‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’ Trailer Reveals Date, Limited Edition

Medal of Honor Warfighter Teaser Trailer Limited Edition

Electronic Arts confirmed the existence of Medal of Honor: Warfighter nearly two weeks ago. Since that time, a number of details have come to light, but fans have been left waiting for their first look at the game in action. That changes today.

An explosive teaser trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter has hit the web. The trailer names October 23, 2012, as the game’s release date, and promises that a Limited Edition version will be available for pre-order at no additional cost.

The 2010 Medal of Honor reboot has to be considered a qualified success — as pointed out in Game Rant’s Medal of Honor review, the game’s campaign proved to be a good enough time, though multiplayer was a let down, and there was room for improvement all around. As such, we suggested 5 things we want from Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Scratch one item off our wish list, as the Frostbite 2.0 powered game definitely features dynamic environments. Check out the action in the teaser trailer below.

Despite the tag at the end of the trailer, no pre-order information has been posted at the game’s official website. Look for more news on the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition as it develops.

As for the game’s release date, Electronic Arts appears to be following the same strategy it used in launching last Fall’s Battlefield 3 — basically, get it out the door and on store shelves in advance of the next Call of Duty game. The most recent rumors peg the still officially unannounced Black Ops 2 as releasing on November 12th (though the 13th is a more believable date). That would give Medal of Honor: Warfighter three weeks to make its case to the gaming public before Activision swoops in for the proverbial kill. Will that be enough time? What do you think?

What’s your first reaction to the Medal of Honor: Warfighter teaser trailer? Do the trailer’s explosive, set-piece moments square with the realism developer Danger Close Games is allegedly shooting for? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter will release October 23, 2012, for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

  1. Hopefully this has less bugs than BF3. Can’t wait for this game.

    • I totally agree man, but when I played the MoH beta it had it’s share of bugs.

  2. from what I see it looks great, visually comparable to battlefield 3 for sure, but who knows if it will fly or not. Hard to tell from this limited reveal.

  3. Thats all they do is rush the games, EA talks about making a better game, THEN TAKE THE TIME TO WORK ON IT. People say Activision releases COD too much, EA’s going to end up with something similar, people criticizing them for not taking the time or using fresh ideas. I’ll still give it a chance, just have to wait until more stuff is revealed.

    • You’re right. They’re turning into their competition.

      • Yeah, they just work every dime out of their developers, they just need to take the time. Look at Rockstar they literally split 3 years between every GTA, and it still remains fresh(Although I was kind of edgy with GTA IV).

      • I’m not saying that they didn’t rush this game, but I wouldn’t take JACK’s word on it. He’s a pretty notorious COD fanboy that pretty much just bad-mouths anything EA/BF3 on this site…

But anyway, I cannot make any judgments about this game, haven’t seen anything about it really. That teaser was just, well, a teaser…

        • I’m not going to give up on the game so far. After all this isn’t enough from the game, I’m not going to just abandon it I hate alot of things about Activision and COD too.

          • Yes I know I bad-mouth them alot, there are days where I’m not in a good mood.

    • Not sure I’d call 2-Years of Development ‘rushing it’.

      • Well, Infinity Ward and Treyarch put time into it, but EA has their developers pushing it out the door too fast. The main work on EA’s shooters don’t begin until January or a little later.

      • @Curtis, maybe not but they need to weed out those bugs better.

  4. Sweet, better not be a generic streamlined shooter though, and defo not be as buggy as BF3! Excited for sure though.

  5. getting it and i barely know anything about it :P

  6. EA turned me off. I will not be buying this game. =(

    • you can not deny, the reboot had a touching story once you find out it is a true story

      • You do realize that none of those characters are real right?

        • Most likely based on actually missions. True events, either way it had more heart and respected the military rather than glorifying it like most shooters do. And I don’t think they can use SOME real people due to classified intel and security.

          • Yeah, it’s based on Operation Anaconda if I remember correctly. Brings back memories of my depolyment to Afghanistan. God am I glad I’m out there now.

          • @ATG

I guess like Act of Valor, used true events strung together in a fictional story. I hope this sequel will be awesome, I was hoping Medal of Honor was going to be awesome, was a little let down by the mediocre reviews…

  7. Looks semi interesting. I used to play the MOH’s a lot back in the PS2 days but took a good break from video games. Now that I’ve been back into gaming for the past 2 years now i can’t seem to get into them or even spark interest. To many military shooters I guess. It does look mighty fine though…

“Will that be enough time? What do you think?”

    - Honestly…No. COD’s THE FPS Goliath on the PS3 and we’ll have to wait and see for more content(trailers, news & reveals) to see if this will have enough to be a potential David; But I doubt it…

  8. Well, just bought Medal of Honor for PC for $3.65 thanks to a $7.65 off coupon for Ebay… Gonna see if the campaign is any good. I heard the multiplayer sucks, but that’s alright, I have BF3 for multiplayer, lol.

  9. MoH story was very touching, I can connect with the soldiers (not saying I’m a SF or anything), but with the amount of Special Operations out there in the game, I’m quite excited. To bad Rabbit died :’(

    • Holy crap John… I just bought the game and haven’t played it yet… Thanks for the spoiler alert…

      • Haha

        • John, you just had to go and spoil it for him didn’t you. lol

    • You jerk… lol

      • Who?

        • Oh wait nevermind

  10. Tier 1, SAS… oh yeah I remember them, great guys. This game will be awesome(I hope).
