A new trailer for Danger Close and EA’s forthcoming Medal of Honor sequel, Warfighter, has just been released, but rather than focusing on the flashy Frostbite 2 visuals this one is all about the multiplayer gameplay. Don’t misunderstand, the game still looks as glorious as it did during E3 2012, but now EA is trying to give multiplayer the attention it deserves.
This particular trailer focuses on the Tungawan Jungle map, which is set in the Philippines. There’s foliage galore and a ton of military vehicles ripe for destruction. In essence, it’s your prototypical map, but carries that signature sheen and polish that gamers will soon come to associate with Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
It appears that rather than focus on differentiating itself from Battlefield 3‘s multiplayer, Warfighter is making sure gamers are aware the two properties share similar DNA. While DICE helped get the first Medal of Honor’s multiplayer off the ground, this is a Danger Close undertaking, but now it has Frostbite 2.0 at the helm.
Still, it’s hard not to notice all the little similarities, even down to the sound effects, between this trailer and any of the Battlefield 3 multiplayer trailers. Obviously EA wants to piggyback off the success of Battlefield, and make sure that gamers know the two properties will share a symbiotic relationship similar in style to Treyarch and Infinity Ward’s work on Call of Duty, but perhaps they could have made the similarities between the two a little less apparent.

Speaking strictly in regards to the map however, it looks like the perfect showpiece for Frostbite 2.0 and shows off something a little different than the urban environments gamers are so used to seeing. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Medal of Honor: Warfighter trailer if it didn’t conclude with a big explosion.
What do you think of the Tungawan Jungle map featured in Medal of Honor: Warfighter? Do the game’s visual similarities to Battlefield make you more or less excited for the game?
Medal of Honor: Warfighter releases October 23, 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

I really hope this outsells black ops 2.
I’d like to see that, too, but it’s not even a possibility.
Unfortunately, but you’re probably right. However, I have heard that many people are disinterested in BO2. So, who knows.
Yes, many people are disinterested in the game. But there are WAY, WAY more people who are interested in the game, or will at least buy it. We’re talking 15-20 million people within the first week of its release.
I personally thought the reboot was better than black opps one…
Oh, definitely. Just wishful thinking. But this game will be light years ahead of BO2. So, I’m very excited for this, and halo 4.
I’m buying both BO2 and MOH:W
This game looks great. I love the jungle themed environment. Originally I wasn’t planning on getting this bc I will be playing lots of FPS this fall (Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3 and BF3 is going to continue to get DLC. Now I am not sure how I am going to be able to pass this up.
This looks pretty impressive. I don’t see the level of similarity to BF3 that you saw. Sure its a fps but it certainly doesnt feel like BF3.
I just hope this one is a little deeper than the 2010 one. You unlocked everything in multiplayer really quick and had nothing bringing you back after that. I will wait and try before i buy but i like what i see so far
I think it looks a lot like BF3 other than the environment. Sounds and gameplay are right on with BF3.
