As Marvel Comics has shown time and time again they are all about synergy. Uniting their movie, comic, and game universes is something the company is gradually working towards, even if the various properties don't fully align with each other.

The latest move towards uniting comic, film, and game is the introduction of two forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe properties into the world of Marvel: Avenger's Alliance. Some time this year both Captain America: The Winter Soldier's storyline and characters as well as The Guardians of the Galaxy will hit the hugely popular Facebook and mobile title.

First up is The Winter Soldier content, which will feature a storyline and missions that run parallel to the feature film. The content will also feature some major players from the Captain America and Winter Soldier story arcs, including Black Widow, Baron Von Strucker, and Viper. Marvel is remaining fairly tight-lipped as to what players can fully expect, but the opportunity to battle alongside Falcon sounds intriguing. The Captain America: The Winter Soldier content will be added this month, ahead of the feature film's release in early April.

Guardians of the Galaxy's introduction, on the other hand, will be a little more gradual, as Marvel adds a few members of the universe-saving group at a time. But rest assured when all is said and done Marvel: Avenger's Alliance will feature all key Guardians members — that's Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora, and Drax. Unfortunately, Marvel didn't have much to say about potential storylines or missions, presumably because those characters will be added into the experience much later, likely alongside the feature film in August.

With the big news out of the way, Marvel also teased a potential crossover event for Marvel: Avenger's Alliance, one that may or may not be centered on the Taskmaster. As regularly AA players know, Taskmaster was introduced as a "good" character, but he does not avoid sharing his disdain for S.H.I.E.L.D. Could we be looking at the start of something bigger? Perhaps, but Marvel isn't saying anything right now.

Clearly, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe grows so too does the Marvel: Avenger's Alliance experience. Players have plenty to look forward to in the near future as well as a few new characters in the pipeline.

Are you ready for The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy characters to be added to Marvel: Avenger's Alliance? How do you envision a major crossover event for the mobile title?
