After a hard fought battle on the floor of E3, Dr. Wagner Jr. was victorious over La Parka, Silver King and The Chosen One, El Elegido to become the cover athlete for Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring. While Lucha Libre AAA is the first game of Konami's new franchise, from the looks of it, it can quickly jump to the top rope of wrestling games.

As I'm sure you know, Lucha Libre is the term used in Mexico for wrestling. Lucha libre is highlighted by masked men and a high-flying, fast-paced matches, which, if they don't leave you dizzy, will leave you amazed.

Here's the E3 trailer for Lucha Libre AAA: Heries del Ring:

From what I see in the trailer, I'm VERY excited for this game. In the WWE and old WCW games, I always had fun being luchadores such as La Parka, Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis, all of whom are slated to be in this game, along with more than 30 other wrestlers.

Lucha Libre AAA will give you the ability to fully customize your own wrestler, including his mask. You will also be able to put your mask on the line in Mask vs. Hair matches. You can also play through a single player mode as either a heel (rudo) or a face (tecnico). I've began dabbling beyond the usual North American sports by checking out Japanese baseball, rugby, and cricket. And now, Lucha Libre is definitively on my list of games to check out and if you love wrestling games, I think it should be on yours. Our E3 2010 away team had the chance to get up close and personal with the game and the wrestlers themselves and they had good things to say about the fun this game will provide. Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring is being release by Konami, and while there isn't a firm release date, it is "Coming soon" to Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, and DSiWare.
