It goes without saying that the new LittleBigPlanet 3 is all about Sackboy and his newfound friends, who have a variety of new abilities to use in helping him across his next journey. Guiding the playful plushies is none-other than the friendly baritone narration of Stephen Fry, who has been the game's narrator since the conception of the series. In the third iteration of the game, a new enemy named Newton is aiming to destroy the world of LittleBigPlanet 3 - and Sony has just announced what may be the best casting choice they could have picked for his voice. It's none other than Hugh Laurie.

Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry have been a comedic duo for many years, so it feels very natural to see Hugh cast alongside his longtime friend. Though they may be adversaries in the game, the duo worked together through the '80s and '90s as a successful comedy pairing, before launching equally-successful solo careers. They've remained friends to this day, which is likely how Laurie (well known for his role in the hit TV series House) was invited to the world of LittleBigPlanet.

For the first time, Sony also showed off what Laurie's character design and unsurprisingly, Newton can pull off a pretty evil look. Check him out below:

As if this weren't neat enough, Sony casually dropped that with the increasing cast of characters, they'd also brought on the famous videogame voice of Nolan North, as well as former Harley Quinn and current My Little Pony voice actress Tara Strong. Across the pond, Peter Serafinowicz (Shaun of the Dead) and Simon Greenall have also been added to the game, though Sony have kept mum on which character they'll each be working on. Given that Sackboy has 4 brand new companions, it's likely that the Nolan and the others have each been assigned one, though Sony will likely reveal more ahead of the game's release.

Gamers who pre-order LBP3 will also get access to exclusive content, which ironically sees Sackboy getting a Nathan Drake costume - even though Nolan North, the voice of the character himself, will be presumably playing someone else.

LittleBigPlanet 3 is scheduled for a November 18, 2014 release date on both PS3 and PS4.
