Longtime fans of The Generalissimo shouldn't have been surprised to hear back in July that Stan Lee is slated to make a cameo in the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game.

Announced in JanuaryLEGO has made it clear that their next Marvel title is going to have an exhaustive cast list. The list of playable characters includes many obvious choices like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and all of The Fantastic Four as well as more obscure fare like Captain Britain, Phil Coulson, A-Bomb, and Frederick J. "The Blob" Dukes. With LEGO even including The Fantastic Four's obedient robot H.E.R.B.I.E., and Howard The Duck of all characters, it would have been beyond remiss to exclude the king of cameos and one of the founding fathers of Marvel in the game as well.

While it has been known for a while that Stan The Man would be appearing, the new video (see above) explores what Lee will actually be capable of in the game. We see he has telekinesis, X-ray vision, shape shifting (reminiscent of Mr. Fantastic), is possibly able to shoot Spider-Man style webbing (or at least is able to idly hang from it), and can also transform into a mustachioed variation of The Hulk (unlike last time).

With all of these powers, Lee may very well may be one of the strongest characters included - and it's safe to say that this appearance will be a little more than just a blink-and-miss-it cameo.

In the video, Stan himself says that his real superpower is "luck" and feels lucky to be in a game fighting alongside The Hulk, and Thor, and Iron Man. Of course, this certainly isn't the first time he's rubbed elbows with his characters. In his life, Stan and his cameos have spanned all mediums and, while Stan Lee fans make a point to watch for it, casual gamers might not know that he's appeared in just about every single television, film, cartoon and even radio series featuring Marvel heroes. Typically, he plays bit characters, like "Senator Lieber," a pageant judge, and "Milwaukee Man Drinking From Bottle," so it's exciting to see Stan Lee back to portraying Stan Lee.

While each character he plays is basically just Stan Lee in a silly hat or costume, he's only had the chance to specifically be himself in a handful of movies and an odd animated show here and there. The LEGO recreation of him is pretty spot-on, too: decked out in his typical beige, yellow glasses, mustache, and widow's peak.

Stan Lee isn't the only heavy-hitter from the real world of comics who will be making an appearance (you'll also see Axel Alonso, Tom Brevoort, and Joe Quesada), but he is certainly getting the most fanfare. This is far from his first video game appearance either and many will fondly remember his narrations from some of PlayStation 1's Spider-Man outings. For the young demographic this game is seemingly aiming for, however, this may very well be their first introduction to the legendary geek icon.
