The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask 3D Limited Edition

As one of the most anticipated titles arriving on the Nintendo 3DS in 2015, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D has undoubtedly been a long time coming in the eyes of fans. The remake is something that many gamers have been anticipating ever since The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D first appeared on the aforementioned handheld, but it's now been confirmed that consumers will have the option to pick up a limited edition variant when the title arrives in 2015.

Nintendo announced the limited edition offering and pulled the curtain off of the packaging for the upcoming, mask-centric adventure title. What makes this SKU so special, however, is the fact that it comes with a figurine of Skull Kid – the tragic antagonist from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. The character has firmly established himself as a fan-favorite amongst Zelda fans, which made his tangible inclusion in any sort of collector's bundle a given.

Including both a copy of the game and Skull Kid, this option is set to hit the market at an expected price of $49.99 USD. That's not bad considering that fans are really only shelling out about an extra $10 for an exclusive collectible, but (if past offerings are any indication) odds are that this edition will be very limited.

The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask 3D Skull Kid Figure

Despite being given a brief glimpse of the tabletop villain and the box he'll be arriving in later this year, not making the toy a new entry in the newly kick-started amiibo initiative could be seen as a missed opportunity in the eyes of some. Still, with the fact that Majora's Mask 3D will have exclusive features on the New 3DS, it's entirely possible that there will be a scannable version of Skull Kid at some point down the road.

Wishes for additional amiibo aside, the updated visuals and enhancements to the N64 original should make The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D a truly nostalgic romp when it does finally arrive later this year. Although the game is currently without a release date, it wouldn't be surprising to hear of a release window in the very near future.
