Much like Ubisoft announced that all future Tom Clancy titles would be supporting Microsoft Kinect, Kojima Productions has announced that all of their future games would be utilizing the recently unveiled ‘transfarring’ feature.

Allowing gamers to save a play through on their NGP, now revealed to be titled PS Vita, and then continue on their PS3, the ‘transfarring’ ability is one that gamers have been dying to see for some time now. What’s more interesting about this news is that Kojima has all but officially announced that any PS3 title would also be released on the PS Vita.

Of course, with an announcement of this magnitude comes the belief that Kojima Productions is sticking with Sony as their sole publisher, but we already know that not to be the case. More likely, if Kojima’s team plans to put out a title on the PS3, gamers can expect that a PS Vita version is right around the corner.

After having got some hands-on time with the Vita during the Sony press conference, it is easy to see the same graphical capabilities of the PS3 being reflected in the handheld. There will still be some incongruities between one tech and the other, but for the most part the use of ‘transfarring’ should create a seamless transition between gaming-on-the-go and home console experiences.

To read Kojima's comments about the future of Vita and PS3 connectivity see below:

"We have a plan moving forward, where all of our major titles will have this transfarring functionality. So you'll buy the next big game from Kojima Productions on PS3, and there'll also be an NGP version [PSVita] and take it on the go."

With Kojima a no-show at this year’s E3, gamers began to wonder if the developer was saving the big announcements like Metal Gear Solid 5 for next year. There were still some interesting tidbits coming from his team mind you, just not the type that gamers might have been expecting.

The future, however, does look very bright for Kojima, especially if the PS Vita takes off in the way that Sony hopes it does. We can’t wait to see what the Metal Gear Solid team has in store for gamers in 2012 and beyond.

Would you be interested in picking up a Kojima title on both the PS Vita and PS3 in order to reap the benefits of ‘transfarring?’ Do you believe Kojima will hold true to his promise of all future titles appearing on the handheld platform?
