Kingdom Hearts fans have been kept waiting a long time by Square Enix, eager to learn more about the awaited main-series sequel, Kingdom Hearts III. After Square Enix's E3 2015 presentation finally revealed gameplay footage the title, very little has been revealed about the game.

Thankfully, that's about to change. Square Enix has announced that fans can expect more information and footage about Kingdom Hearts III at an upcoming, exclusive showing in Japan.

Disney Japan released an announcement detailing the showing, dubbed the Kingdom Hearts Premium Theater Event. The event will be held during the D23 Expo Japan, the sister-expo to the D23 Expo in Anaheim California, where it was announced that Big Hero 6 will play a role in Kingdom Hearts III. The Kingdom Hearts event will be held twice on November 3rd, from 1pm to 2:30, and again from 4pm to 5:30. The events will be identical, and are being held twice in order to accommodate more viewers. The event will include interview with special guests, and viewers can expect to see new footage from the Kingdom Hearts series.

Getting in to see the D23 Japan event may be a challenge for fans, as the tickets are being raffled off in a lottery instead of being sold outright. Entries to the raffle cost 1,500 yen (approximately 12 dollars), and the raffle will be open for entries from September 15th to September 24th, with the winners being announced on September 29th. This lottery is primarily intended for Japanese residents, and it's necessary to have a Disney Japan account to enter the raffle.

While fans may be discouraged knowing that the odds of making it into the event are low, the news that is announced there will surely be available the public soon afterwards. While a lot remains unknown about Kingdom Hearts III thus far, the developers have already promised the Kingdom Hearts III will include all-new worlds, and that online multiplayer is being considered for the title. Unfortunately, very little footage of the game has released thus far, and some have questioned how far along Kingdom Hearts III's development actually is. Additionally, it's unclear how much footage will be shown, as the event is only an hour and a half long and the discussions with the guests will presumably take up a large chunk of that time.

Kingdom Hearts III has been a long time coming, and it's good to know that Disney and Square-Enix have set plans on releasing more information and footage from the game. Even so, the release date or even year remains unknown, so it's understandable if some fans find themselves irritated at the long delay between Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts III.

Kingdom Hearts III's release date is TBA, and will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
