If you are a regular visitor to Game Rant you will more than likely be aware that the Games Development Conference 2010 is currently under way in San Francisco, and yesterday Lionhead Studios' main man, Peter Molyneux was in attendance to present a panel on Intuitive Design.

Now, Molyneaux being Molyneaux, it was almost a given that he would reveal some information on Lionhead's current project, the upcoming RPG sequel Fable 3 - and sure enough he did.

During his presentation Molyneaux got talking about a new butler character in Fable 3, who he quickly revealed will be voiced by non other than British comedy legend John Cleese.

"We have a character in here, he is your butler. He is like a cross between Jeeves and Gordon from Batman. We were really inspired by this idea that were making a Monty Python-esque humored game. A lot of people talked about Fable 2 having his crazy Monty Python humor. So we went out and got John Cleese as your butler."

John Cleese is the latest British celebrity to join the voice cast of Fable 3 - also lending their voices to the game are the likes of snappy journalist Charlie Brooker, TV/Radio presenter Jonathan Ross, and of course actor Stephen Fry, who will be reprising his role as Reaver.

Unfortunately, those in attendance weren't able to hear any of Cleese's work as Lionhead are apparently still tidying up some legal strings, but Molyneaux assured everybody that Cleese has recorded a huge amount of dialogue for the title.

There isn't much other information available as to how much the Butler will feature in Fable 3, but Molyneaux said that, at the least, he will offer advice and comment on your hero's attire.

In addition to the Cleese reveal, Molyneaux also revealed some information on the games GUI, stating that he wishes to move away from 2D text based menus, instead opting for a 3D integrated system. An example being that in Fable 3 your character will have a dressing room - which they can enter to change their clothing instead of just selecting it from a menu.

While this doesn't seem like a particularly new or original mechanic, it certainly sounds like an improvement over Fable 2's awful menu system.

Are you a fan of Cleese's work? What do you make of the new menu system?

Fable 3 is due for release on Xbox 360 later this year.
