Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World follows the story of Subaru Natsuki, who dies and comes back to life in a fantasy world. In this new world, he discovers he has the power to turn back time after dying. Subaru uses his newfound ability to assistant others but eventually realizes he needs to help himself because he suffers from the memories that seem real to him each time he dies.
The first season aired from April 2016 to September 2016. And the second one ran from July to September 2020, and then again from January to March 2021. Now that it is over (for now), the anime fans need something to occupy their time with until season three comes through.
10 Log Horizon
Log Horizon takes place in a massively multiplayer online role-playing game by the name of Elder Tale, which has millions of players across the world. It gets updated daily and is now on its twelfth expansion pack, called Homesteading the Noosphere. However, 30,000 players in Japan who were logged in when the patch hit get sucked into Elder Tale's world (virtually). These real-life people are now their in-game avatars.
The story of Log Horizon starts with one of these people, Shiroe, as well as his friends, Naotsugu and Akatsuki. They party up and choose to take on the struggles of their new reality as a team. But will they ever get back to their old reality?

KonoSuba: God's Blessing On This Wonderful World! follows the story of Kazuma Sato, a Japanese teenager who died but got reincarnated in a parallel universe. This is all thanks to Aqua, a goddess. She accompanies him in this fantastic world and they begin their journey in the town of Axel.
However, Aqua cannot go back to her life as a goddess until the Devil King is defeated. So, Kazuma teams up with Megumin, the magician, and Darkness, the crusader. The party dynamic is all over the place though. Although they keep giving up on trying to overcome the Devil King, Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness slowly but surely work their way towards his defeat (whether they like it or not).
8 The Devil Is A Part-Timer!
The Devil Is A Part-Timer! is about Satan, the Demon Lord, who is trying to take over the world of Ente Isla with the help of his demons Alciel, Lucifer, Malacoda, and Adramelech. Unfortunately, Emilia, the hero, and her allies kill Malacoda and Adramelech and escape to Tokyo, Japan.
Satan and Alciel follow them, taking human forms. To survive though, Satan (who starts going by Sadao Mao) gets a part-time job at MgRonalds, a fast-food restaurant. Eventually, he runs into Emi Yusa, who is actually Emilia in her human form.
7 GATE
GATE starts in Ginza, a district in the Chuo Ward of Tokyo, Japan. Here, a portal opens up and an army of medieval soldiers and monsters appear. War happens between the intruders and the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
After winning, the Third Reconnaissance Team of the JSDF goes into the portal. Youji Itami leads the dispatch mission. During his travels, he meets an elf girl who guides him and his squad through this new world of fantasy and danger.
6 How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord
How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is about Takuma Sakamoto, a young man who is a hikikomori, meaning a recluse in Japanese. He gets transported into the virtual world of Cross Reverie, his favorite massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Moreover, Takuma is his avatar, the Demon Lord Diablo.
Apparently, Rem and Shera, both young girls, summoned him in an attempt to make him their servant. But the magic reflected, and now they are his servants instead. Takuma sets out on an adventure to free them of this spell they cast on themselves and tries not to be his awkward, anxious self.
5 Sword Art Online
Sword Art Online occurs in the year 2022, where virtual reality is on another level. Sword Art Online is a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game that uses the "NerveGear" technology so players can control their avatars in the game using their minds.
One of the lucky 10,000 people who got the first copies of the game is Kazuto Kirigaya, who goes by Kirito in-game. He and everyone else logs into the world of Aincrad but soon finds out that they cannot log back out. The creator of the game trapped them inside this fantasy world; it gets worse...if they die in the game, they die in real life.
4 No Game No Life
No Game No Life follows Sora and Shiro, who both play the same character in online video games: Blank. They are smart but introverted. After an online chess match with Tet, the God of Games, they get sucked into another realm called Disboard.
In Disboard, people settle conflicts through high-stake games. Wagers are always equal. Sora and Shiro embark on a quest to play lots of games to unite everyone in Disboard, take down Tet, and become the new gods of this weird world.
3 Overlord
Overlord focuses on the virtual reality game Yggdrasil, which is ending despite its vast popularity. Momonga, a wizard and master of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown, stays logged in when the game servers shut down for good. He becomes trapped and discovers the non-player characters are still working and now act like real people.
Momonga goes on to take control of this new world, in an attempt to figure out what is going on and if there is anyone else out there just like him.
2 The Rising of the Shield Hero
While the other three heroes have a sword or a spear or a bow, Naofumi Iwatani gets a shield. Everyone finds him therefore weak (and lame). On top of that, he gets betrayed by his comrade and the entire kingdom winds up hating him. Yet, Naofumi strives to better himself and restore his reputation. Still, he tries to save the world.
1 That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is about Satoru Mikami, a middle-aged corporate worker in Tokyo, Japan. He cannot find a girlfriend, but life is fine. After a random accident where he basically dies, Satoru wakes up in an otherworldly realm where he is now a slime.
Satoru befriends Veldora, the Storm Dragon, who grants him divine protection. He starts going by Rimuru Tempest too. Satoru/Rimuru sets off on an adventure while trying to balance his slimy inner self.
