Rumor Patrol: iPhone 5 and iPad 3 in 2012?

Apple aiming for iPhone 5 and iPad 3 Release in 2012?

Although some were disappointed that the iPhone 5 wasn’t released this year, reports now claim that the phone will be here next year — which isn’t really a surprise. Along with the iPhone 5, consumers may see a complete overhaul of other Apple products such as updates to two new iPads, the iMac, and the MacBook Air.

The iPhone 4S released only a few weeks ago, and has since broke numerous records. Still, it is no surprise that rumors of an iPhone 5 have been been rolling out so quickly, particularly after it was announced that Steve Jobs had a hand in the iPhone 5’s design before his untimely passing.

According to disclosed “sources in the upstream supply chain,” there are claims that Apple is planning to order enough essential key components by the end of 2011 to produce two million iPad units by the start of the new year. The finalization of this order is looking to come to a close as soon as possible, in order to reach this deadline.

This kind of production order is indeed a positive outlook for those who love the iPad 2 and hope to upgrade in the near future. But with the popularity of the iPhone 4S, the iPad may follow the pattern of Apple phones and come out with an iPad 2S rather than the iPad 3 this early. Even so, this upgrade is expected to be thinner than the iPad 2 and also house a better battery life.

Anyone hoping for a more thorough overhaul also have reason to be optimistic, as DigiTimes also states that, in addition to the spring iPad update, a full iPad 3 will release late in the third quarter of 2012. Manufacturers have been asked to “develop flat panel modules and LED light bars for two iPad prototypes, codenamed J1 and J2.”

Along with that good news, more reports from DigiTimes also state that the iPhone 5 and a new iMac should be announced in the second half of next year, but there are no specifications as to what may be updated from the current models.

What would you be looking for in upgraded Apple products? What would you like to see in the iPhone 5? What would you like to see with a new iPad?

It’s a no brainer that the iPhone 5 will be redesigned so I definitely can’t wait for that. A bigger screen is all I ask, maybe like a 4″ screen. Of course it’ll be thinner, that’s about all on the hardware side and any software upgrade will be welcomed but I’m pretty satisfied with the iOS now, Siri becoming more advanced will be nice. iPad wise, I have no idea, I love my iPad 2 but I’m sure it’ll be a big new feature for the 3.

Yea a bigger screen would be what I want out of iPhone 5. I’d imagine they’ll take all the information they get from the usage of SiRi and launch Siri 2.0 alongside iPhone 5.

Yea I love my iPad 2 too. But Outside of thinner, and longer battery life, not sure what they could add. I’d love to see a way more advanced camera put in, and more importantly a Video Camera. I use the iPad to tap family sporting events, because you can have instant replay rightaway. A video camera that had 1080p clarity even with a 5x zoom would get my money for the upgrade, no matter what else they added.

Each time a new iPhone comes out, it’s a slight improvement over the last. Let’s go down the memory lane and figure out the people and technology.

It would be awesome if they would incorporate some revolutionary ideas like allowing you to expand its internal memory using little memory card devices that you can buy very cheaply anywhere. So if you need more memory you simply spend a few bucks and buy one of theses instead of having to buy a whole new phone with more built-in memory. Oh, and batteries usually eventually stop holding as much charge as when they were new after about a year of using them. So it’ll be so revolutionary if Apple makes the new phone where you can just buy a new battery for cheap and replace it instead of replacing the entire phone if your battery starts to go flat. Also, it’ll be such a new idea if they would allow you to fully customize your ring tones and message notifications sounds where you can use any audio file and not be forced to convert them to a much lower quality proprietary format that nobody else uses. And another giant leap in phone technology will be a physical button you can press to take photos instead of tapping on your screen hoping it’ll sense your touch without moving the phone while it is taking the photo…

Yah, it’ll be such a giant leap in phones if they do those things, Apple will have such a great product on their hands…

Oh wait, what? Every body else already have all of these features??

Oops, my mistake, nevermind folks, as you were…

Apple already has a “great” products. Ive never had an issue with my battery nor do I need more than 32GB of memory and now they have 64GB but I def don’t need all that.
But hey, if you don’t like apple, that’s awesome, plenty of other phones to choose from, good ones too. That simple.
