Homefront is proving to be a resilient game - in it for the the long haul. With Kaos Studios continuously supporting PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 releases of the game, its clear that THQ wants the first generation in its new shooter franchise to be successful enough to warrant a sequel.

To continue supporting the shooter, one THQ claimed was on the level of the Call of Duty games, the developer announced its plan for Homefront's first DLC package.

The DLC package, called the "Fire Sale" map pack will bring two new multiplayer maps - which will take gamers even further into the heart of People's Republic of Korea occupied America. Fire Sale will be released on June 7,  2011 - exclusively for the Xbox 360 adding Homefront to a list of games that Microsoft has exclusivity. No time-frame for release on other platforms has been announced as of yet.

That's not all all Xbox gamers are going to be getting June 7, 2011 either: an 870 Express Shotgun will be available for download on the same day Fire Sale comes out. It's unclear whether this is also an exclusive download, and we may have to wait till June 7, 2011 to find out. No pricing has been released for either Fire Sale or the shotgun, but as a token of appreciation to Homefront's fans, a free Premium Homefront Theme will become available on Xbox Live Marketplace.
