Halo: Reach, Bungie’s next release, had a lot of buzz around it potentially being a title under Microsoft’s controller free, and much anticipated, Project Natal. As the expected release dates are in Q4 this year, and both are Microsoft exclusives, the rumors felt somewhat solid. Not so much. Bungie put together a “mythbusters” news piece about Halo: Reach and touched upon the rumor:
“Truth: Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind.”
Some of the rumor was built upon the below screenshot, showing a crosshair way off to the left as if it was being directed by some sort of motion controller. Bungie squashed this as well, specifically stating:
“Truth be told, it’s just a good ole fashioned bug. Bug #15163 to be exact.”

So, Halo: Reach will not be a Natal title, and I think it’s better this way. Give me a physical controller and let me rack up the frags while I’m parked on my couch – Dr. Pepper within reach.
Would you like to see an FPS like Halo on Natal? Are you excited to see what Natal has to offer?

i would be interested in a natal halo have you seen the movie gamer? imagine that but Halo. epic
Didn't think Microsoft was about to gamble with their biggest franchise.
I still like the idea of actually “throwing” a grenade. But not if Halo is going to keep its multiplayer mode capable of handling tournament style play for major league gamers.
I think the next call of duty will use basic natal controls for certain things… just a guess.
